Borussia Mönchengladbach have, according to Germany’s main sporting tabloid, been most proactive in the search to acquire a replacement for likely-to-depart French midfield prospect Manu Kouadio Koné. Despite the fact that the 22-year-old recently extended his contract, the move was seen as little other than a chance for the Westphalian club to put themselves in a better position to sell the French youth international.

Germany’s “Sport Bild” newspaper reports that the foals fashion replacing Koné with another 22-year-old French youth international. Joris Chotard of Montpellier HSC has established himself well with his Ligue 1 side despite his young years. The Orange-native has already made 142 first-team appearances, scoring two goals and registering ten assists.

The German tabloid reports that negotiations are “well under way” for the procurement of Chotard, who shares an agent with BMG captain Jonas Omlin. Chotard maintains an estimated market worth of €9 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. Koné – with an estimated market worth of €40 million – can surely fetch much more.
