Gian Piero Gasperini could leave Atalanta in the summer

There is a rather concrete possibility of Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini leaving the club at the end of the current season.

Gasperini’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2024 and La Repubblica have reported about the situation of the Italian. Gasperini is said to be currently reflecting on his future at La Dea and he could leave Atalanta in the summer, even if a year will remain on his contract.

Gasperini is said to have had various misunderstandings with the club’s ownership in recent months and there have been disagreements about decisions made in the market.

If he does leave, Atalanta could consider Vincenzo Italiano as a key target. But other names in the shortlist are said to be Alessio Dionisi, Paolo Zanetti and  Bari boss Michele Mignani. Sporting boss Ruben Amorim is also someone that La Dea are keeping an eye on.

If Genoa return to Serie A, Gasperini’s future could lie there and Torino are already keeping tabs on him.
