Georginio Wijnaldum has two months to convince Roma

Paris Saint-Germain and Roma midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is said to have two months to convince the Giallorossi about signing him permanently or extending his loan stint at the club.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW) state today that as of now, Roma are not inclined towards signing him permanently or renewing his loan because of the injury issues that have halted his progress at the club. There is also the question of the costs that would be needed to either sign him permanently of renew his loan deal from PSG.

Roma are already looking around for cheaper and potentially younger alternatives to Wijnaldum and one of the names at the top of their shortlist is that Davide Frattesi. But since Wijnaldum’s future is not fully decided yet, they are waiting till the end of the season to make a final decision about the Dutchman.

The 32-year-old has made only seven appearances in Serie A this season, scoring one goal. He had sustained a fracture earlier in the season and returned in 2023.
