According to WAZ, negotiations between Galatasaray and Schalke for Amine Harit (25) have resumed with the Morocco international expected to leave the Bundesliga side.
Speaking to the regional outlet, S04 sporting director Rouven Schröder said that talks have ‘intensified’ and whilst Harit has returned to team training again after being released for negotiations, they remain confident that something will happen.
It was reported in July that Galatasaray had submitted an opening offer of €5m for Harit. S04 wanted a fee closer to €10m but with a reported salary of €5.5m and two-years still to run on his current deal, the Gelsenkirchen club may be open to selling Harit for a smaller fee, given he’s one of the club’s highest earners. Four games into the Bundesliga season, Harit is yet to feature in Frank Kramer’s squad.
Harit was released from Schalke training on Sunday to undergo negotiations. As well as Galatasaray, Premier League side Leicester City have also shown an interest in signing the Moroccan playmaker, who spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Marseille where he scored five and created four across 34 games in all competitions.
Galatasaray have until September 8 to finalise a deal.
