Fulham are looking to step up their pursuit of Werder Bremen Striker Niclas Fullkrug, as per the Evening Standard.
With the deadline day of the summer window approaching, the Cottagers are ramping up their efforts to get their hands on their desired targets.
A deal for Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos appears to be imminent after the Cottagers reportedly struck a verbal agreement worth £15 million with the Spanish outfit.
The Argentine forward is yet to give his greenlight, but Fulham are confident about the move, having offered him double the wages he currently earns.
Focus has also been shifted to Fullkrug, with Marco Silva’s side looking to add more firepower to the attack following Aleksandar Mitrovic’s departure to Al-Hilal.
Fullkrug has enjoyed a significant rise to prominence in recent years, from plying his trade in the second division to becoming a key member of the German national team.
The 30-year-old’s impressive form earned him a place in Germany’s 2022 World Cup squad. He seized his opportunity by scoring two goals, though Hansi Flick’s side were eliminated at the group stage.
Although Werder finished 13th in the Bundesliga last season, Fullkrug was the league’s joint-top scorer alongside Christopher Nkunku with 16 goals.
Werder are keen on keeping their talisman striker this season, and Fulham might have to cough up a considerable fee for his signing, with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2025.
Summer acquisition Raul Jimenez has been leading the attack for the Cottagers this season, however, he is yet to open his account.

Fulham recently announced the arrival of Timothy Castagne from Leicester City, and they are also showing interest in Everton’s Alex Iwobi.
Silva’s men produced a thrilling draw against Arsenal in the Premier League last weekend, with Joah Palhinha scoring a late equaliser.
They also edged out Tottenham Hotspur through penalties last night in the EFL Cup second round.
