Fulham announce the signing of Manor Solomon

Fulham have announced the signing of Manor Solomon after the promising forward left Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 23-year-old, who put pen to paper on a one-year contract, is the Cottagers’ third foray into the Premier League transfer market following the arrivals of Joao Palhinha and Andreas Pereira.

Solomon enjoyed a successful three-year stint with Shakhtar before terminating his contract due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The versatile forward, who netted nine league goals in the 2020-21 campaign, exercised a FIFA rule that allows non-Ukrainians to suspend their contracts with Ukrainian-based clubs.

The Israeli international expressed his delight to have moved to Fulham and is now looking forward to getting started at the West London outfit.

“I’m really happy and delighted to be here at Fulham and I can’t wait to feel the special atmosphere at Craven Cottage,” Solomon said via the Fulham official website.

“There are some great players here and I am determined to help Fulham achieve its goals for the year. I also want to send a big hug to my friends and supporters in Ukraine. You are in my thoughts.”

Known for his versatility and technical abilities, Solomon comfortably operates on the left wing and is adept at playing at the centre of the park.

He scored four goals and provided one assist in 16 outings for Shakhtar Donetsk before the 2021-22 Ukrainian Premier League was abruptly cut short.

Solomon made 95 appearances for Igor Jovicevic’s side since joining from Maccabi Petah Tikva in 2019, registering 21 goals and eight assists.

He has also been a mainstay in the Israeli national team, scoring six goals and setting up eight more in 31 appearances since his debut in September 2018.
