Florian Grillitsch will not be moving to Fiorentina after all.

Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Pradé has confirmed today that the Serie A club have withdrawn from the negotiations with the Austrian international, who is available on a free transfer after his contract with Hoffenheim expired at the end of June.

“We met with his representatives, we pursued him strongly because he is a player on a free transfer,” Pradé told reporters.

“But we didn’t like his father’s talk and demands. We want to decide who we work with. We are a very desirable club for agents.”

Grillitsch has played a total of 178 Bundesliga appearances for Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim, scoring six goals and making 14 assists.
