According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, SC Freiburg’s sale of keeper Mark Flekken to Brentford is through. The 29-year-old net minder has long been clear for departure from Breisgau and there were reports that more intensive talks with the long interested Premiership side had commenced last week.
Plettenberg claims that the two clubs have agreed upon a base €13 million fee built into the Dutchman’s contract. Freiburg have extended with both their backup keepers, Benjamin Uphoff and Noah Atubolu, this season. Germany U21 starter Atubolu is the ostensible choice to rise to the new #1 spot.
❗️News #Flekken: Verbal agreement with @BrentfordFC about a transfer in summer! Brentford has been interested for two years.
➡️ Been told that he will sign a contract until 2028 in the next days.
