Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Groß has been called into the Germany squad for the first time for the upcoming matches against Japan and France.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the 32-year-old reflected on his first call-up.
“It was a total shock for me because there was no contact before, so it really came out of the blue, but I was overjoyed when they contacted me,” said Groß.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to represent my country and I’m so grateful to have been given the chance.
“The guys have welcomed me into the group and I’m having a great time. This is such an exciting opportunity and moment in my career.”
