Fiorentina suffered a heavy defeat on Monday evening as Lazio hoisted to a 4-0 victory. It was the third loss in the last four games for Vincenzo Italiano’s team.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the game, Italiano admitted that their lack of firepower in front of the goal had cost them three points. In a mood of resentment, he said:
“We created a lot. In the first ten minutes, we could have scored three goals. Lazio showed they were stronger than us. Unfortunately, we paid for our lack of efficiency, we did what we had to do, but the result was a very unfair 0-4.”
Goals from Matias Vecino, Mattia Zaccagni, Luis Alberto, and Ciro Immobile led the visitors to a 4-0 win over La Viola. Courtesy of the defeat, Fiorentina currently stands 13th with nine points from nine matches. Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri’s team is third with 20 points from the same number of games in Serie A.
