Feyenoord have entered the race to sign Union Berlin defender Danilho Doekhi (27), according to Algemeen Dagblad, cited by Kicker. The Dutchman played all 34 Bundesliga games for Union last season and has established himself as a key player for Die Eisernen following his move from Vitesse in 2022.
After finishing 11 points above the relegation playoff, Doekhi could now be set for a move away from the Berlin club. His performances both domestically and internationally has aroused interest from several club. Kicker add that Premier League and Serie A clubs are monitoring the player’s situation.
Speaking earlier in the month ahead of the 2025/26 season, Union’s assistant coach, Sebastian Bönig, commented on Doekhi’s situation: “We’ll have to see what happens with Diogo [Leite] and Doekhi.”
A quiet transfer window at Union Berlin
Despite the departures of Benedict Hollerbach and Robin Gosens to Mainz and Fiorentina for a combined €17m, it’s been somewhat of a quiet summer at Union Berlin. Woo-yeong Jeong and Andrej Ilic both arrived on permanent deals for a combined €9m following successful loan spells, while Ilyas Ansah (€4m, Paderborn), Matheo Raab (€400k, Hamburg) and Oliver Burke (Free, Werder Bremen) also join the club.
