Ferland Mendy (29) has ended speculation regarding his Real Madrid future by signing a new deal with the La Liga side, according to Carlo Ancelotti.
There has been uncertainty regarding the future of the France full-back, who over the course of the summer, was the subject of interest from clubs across Europe. Given his international experience, he was an interesting option on the market, given that his contract with Los Blancos was set to expire at the end of the current season.
However, the speculation has now been put to bed. Real Madrid had always been keen on renewing Mendy’s deal and they have now succeeded in doing so. The Frenchman’s new deal will expire in the summer of 2028. That is according to Ancelotti, who announced the deal on Monday.
The Italian manager went on to praise Mendy, stating that Real Madrid were “very happy” with him. Since joining the club from Olympique Lyonnais back in 2019, he has gone on to make 176 appearances for Real Madrid.
