RMC Sport report that Turkish giants Fenerbahçe have stuck a deal with Ligue 1 side Marseille to acquire 20-year-old attacker Bartug Elmaz.
OM will receive €1.2m for the player and have included a 20% sell-on percentage fee clause in the agreement.
The defensive midfielder joined Marseille last summer from Fenerbahçe’s rivals, Galatasaray, on a free transfer after the player refused to sign a professional contract with Gala, as he felt he was not realistically going to receive enough playing time.
He penned a contract with OM until June 2026. He however leaves the South of France 12 months later without having made a single Ligue 1 appearance. Elmaz appeared mainly for Marseille’s reserves but had 4 minutes in a Coupe de France match.
During the 7 appearances that Elmaz made in the French 4th division during the 2022/23 campaign for Marseille’s second string outfit, the player scored 2 goals.
