FCB begin extension talks with Davies, long-term loan locale for Wanner sought

Germany’s preeminent footballing publication reports that German giants FC Bayern München have begun exploratory talks with Alphonso Davies on a possible early contract extension.

In an article appearing on Kicker Magazine’s website, journalist Frank Linkesch also reports that Hasan Salihamidzic and the FCB administrative team are on the look-out for a long-term loan locale for young midfield prospect Paul Wanner.

Linkesch reports that the Bavarians wish to tie down the 22-year-old with a new long-term-deal that will keep him in FCB red through the 2026 World Cup. Davies’ current deal runs through 2025. Linkesch reports that club have only just begun exploratory talks. Negotiations are likely to drag on for some time.

According to the footballing trade journal, Bayern’s vision for Wanner’s future development includes a long-term loan. Similar paths were taken for Bayern stars Toni Kroos (two years at Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Serge Gnabry, and David Alaba (both loaned out to Hoffenheim).
