According to Mohamed Toubache, FC Metz have set a €15m price tag on their striker and Ligue 2’s top scorer Georges Mikautadze (22). Whilst the club are reportedly wanting to keep their star forward if they are promoted to Ligue 1 at the end of the season, there is strong interest from English clubs if they do not make it this season.
Toubache reports that there is also interest from France as well as one club from the Premier League. The 22-year old is currently Ligue 2’s top scorer with 22 goals in 33 appearances this season for Metz – who can still mathematically gain promotion to the top tier with 62 points.
Mikautadze’s contract currently runs until 2026 – as Toubache reports that the club could also accept an offer from €12m with bonuses. However, once again, this depends on whether Metz find themselves in Ligue 1 or Ligue 1 for the next season.
