Everton are on the verge of signing Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling, according to The Athletic.
The Toffees are keen on adding quality to their squad before the transfer window closes.
Despite signing Jack Grealish on loan, they lost their opening match to newly promoted Leeds United last weekend.
Negotiations between both clubs are progressing well, with the proposed package expected to be slightly above £40 million.
The structure of the agreement is being finalised and will include a 20 percent sell-on clause for Southampton.
If all goes according to plan, the 19-year-old winger will undergo a medical early next week. Dibling is currently under contract at Southampton until 2027.
Dibling featured 38 times in all competitions last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His performances earned him a regular spot in the first team.
Dibling could sparkle for Everton
Dibling uses body feints and acceleration to glide past defenders and create goalscoring opportunities.
His close control allows him to operate effectively in tight spaces or on the counter-attack. He prefers cutting inside from wide areas to shoot or deliver key passes.
Dibling’s vision, ability to combine short and long passes, and creativity in the final third make him an unpredictable attacking threat and a valuable addition to any team.
Everton will aim to bounce back from the defeat to Leeds when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this weekend.
