Evan N’Dicka risks putting off interested clubs with salary demands

As reported by Sport1, Barcelona are showing an interest in signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka, who has six months remaining on his current deal. According to Frankfurter Rundschau, the Frenchman has informed SGE that he doesn’t wish to extend his contract beyond 2023.

Sport1 are unable to confirm whether the player has informed his club but the chances of N’Dicka remaining at Eintracht appear to be pretty slim despite it being reported earlier in the week that Eintracht Frankfurt are ready to offer the central-defender a new three-year contract until 2026 with a significant salary increase.

But with Champions League football still in the offing, neither Eintracht nor N’Dicka are in a rush to make a transfer this month, which would mean the Frenchman leaving on a free transfer in the summer.

Sport1’s Christopher Michel adds further that N’Dicka’s agent hopes to secure a €50m package for his client, this includes a signing-on fee of around €15m, plus a €7m salary and a five-year contract. It’s a figure that puts potential clubs off.

Since his €5.5m move from Auxerre in 2015, N’Dicka (23) has played 162 games across all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 10 and creating 10. The Frenchman has become an integral member of the squad, helping Die Adler to their Europa League win last season.
