AS Monaco have been in the market for midfield reinforcements this January. Multiple profiles have been considered, including West Ham United’s Edson Alvarez, however, the Principality club had opted to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe (24).
An agreement had been reached to sign the Frenchman on a loan deal until the end of the season, whilst the agreement also included the option to make his move to the Stade Louis II permanent at the end of the campaign. Only a medical stood in the way of the completion of the move.
However, it is at this hurdle that the move broke down. As reported by RMC Sport and confirmed by Get French Football News, medical tests showed that Dina Ebimbe had a minor calf issue. It meant that the player would not be immediately available, as Monaco required, and so the Principality club have pulled the plug on the move.
