Eric Dier is now one of Bayern Munich’s main transfer targets this winter, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Due to the failed attempt to hijack a deal for Radu Drăgușin, Bayern now see Dier as their ideal candidate for the centre-back role.
Bayern have had a verbal agreement with the Englishman for some time. As reported, the 29-year-old will cost Bayern around €4m and will be offered a contract until 2025 with an optional one-year add-on.
Dier would provide depth for Bayern in midfield and centre-back positions, which is where they are currently lacking, but it is a questionable move as the 29-year-old is not exactly the type of quality that Bayern need to be able to help achieve their goals. The acquisition of Dier may also halt the progress of Aleksander Pavlović, who has performed well when being given a run of game time in the Bayern midfield.
