Edin Terzic gives an update on Gregor Kobel and Mats Hummels

Both Gregor Kobel and Mats Hummels were substituted at half-time in Borussia Dortmund’s 1-1 draw against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday evening but speaking after the game, Edin Terzic stated this was just a precautionary measure.

“Both Gregor and Mats had minor problems at half-time,” said Terzic. “Nothing to worry about, but today we wanted to take absolutely no risks so we decided to take both out.” As reported by Kicker, nothing is expected to stand in the way of either of them playing against Bochum on Saturday.

Thorgan Hazard opened the scoring for Borussia Dortmund in the 23rd minute but Hákon Arnar Haraldsson equalised in the 41st minute. Heading into the game, BVB had already secured their place in the knockout stages following a 0-0 draw against Manchester City last week.

Saturday’s game against Bochum is a different kind of battle for Terzic and BVB. Under new head coach Thomas Letsch, Bochum have won two of their last four Bundesliga games and are no longer bottom. After a 2-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend, it’s important for Borussia Dortmund to keep their momentum going and to close the gap to leaders Union Berlin.
