Borussia Dortmund confirmed more bitter news for perpetually unlucky Spanish fullback Mateu Morey on Saturday morning.

Twenty-three-year-old Mateu Morey’s comeback following an injury layoff that spanned over two years has been postponed once again. The Spaniard’s German club confirmed on Saturday morning that he had incurred another knee injury in training and would remain unavailable for “several weeks”. Additional details were not revealed. Morey has undergone surgery on both knees in the past 24 months.
Since joining Dortmund on a free from the Barca youth academy in 2019, Morey has racked up a total of 29 appearances (including seven Champions’ League deployments) in the Schwarzgelben tricot. He nevertheless hasn’t set foot on the pitch in a competitive fixture for the BVB since be carted off the field against Holstein Kiel in the DFB Pokal see-final in May of 2021.
