Emre Can has been told by Borussia Dortmund that he must either sign a contract beyond 2024 or be sold this summer, Sport1 reports.

“The season hasn’t been satisfying for me at all”

Borussia Dortmund are understood to be pushing for clarity on Emre Can’s future.

According to Sport1, Can has been told to either sign a contract extension beyond 2024 or leave the club.

The midfielder himself has not yet decided where he sees his future, the German media outlet reports.

However, as recently reported by Ruhr Nachrichten, it could prove difficult for the parties to agree on an extension.

Can is one of the club’s top earners, and it’s conceivable that he would have to accept a lower salary in the event of an extension. Whether he would be willing to do that is questionable.
