Just before halftime, referee Sascha Stegmann ignored Karim Adeyemi’s push on Jesper Lindstrøm in the box and VAR refused to review the play. Stegmann later confessed to the missed call and Dortmund narrowly escaped with three points.
Nico Schlotterbeck admitted, “When I see the pictures, it’s yes, clear penalty kick.” Gregor Kobel added, “It’s a penalty kick, of course.”

Edin Terzic stated, “This is one of the instances in which we were very lucky. Today it must be made clear that happiness was on our side. We couldn’t have complained about a whistle.”

Adeyemi responded to Frankfurt’s complaints by saying, “That’s their business. We have three points, I don’t really care.”
