Donyell Malen continued his scintillating form for Borussia Dortmund with a brace in last night’s 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, which saw the Black and Yellows leapfrog Bayern Munich at the top of the table.
The Dutch attacker has now scored six goals and provided three assists in his last five Bundesliga games, and his fine form has not gone unnoticed by Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who says the 24-year-old is finally producing the consistent performances that were expected of him when he joined from PSV for €30 million in 2021.
“He is an incredibly enriching element for this team, that was the idea behind signing him and I’m happy that he is now proving that much more often,” Kehl told reporters after Saturday’s win.
“He was missing the last step and now he has taken it. Donny has gained incredible confidence,” added Kehl.
Malen has now scored eight goals and provided six assists in 30 matches for Dortmund this season.
