Sebastian Kehl appears to be edging closer to extending his contract as Borussia Dortmund sporting director beyond 2025.
According to Sport Bild, the parties have reached a breakthrough in their negotiations, with only the final details left to be ironed out.
Official confirmation of Kehl’s contract extension is expected before Christmas.
BVB managing director for sport Lars Ricken publicly said at the end of November that he would like Kehl to stay.
Kehl was Dortmund’s head of first-team football between 2018 and 2022, when he was appointed sporting director.
