A head-turning statistic surrounding the success rate of Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski from the penalty spot since making the move to Spain has come to the fore online.
This of course comes fresh off the Pole fluffing his lines from 12 yards on Sunday.
With Barcelona trailing by two goals to one late in a La Liga meeting with Sevilla, Lewandowski was afforded the chance to level things up from the spot.
The former Bayern Munich man, however, failed to even hit the target, a costly error en route to a 4-1 Blaugrana defeat.
And as alluded to above, such woes have since given rise to an alarming statistic, which will no doubt have been taken full note of by Hansi Flick and his staff.
As per a report from statisticians Opta:
‘Robert Lewandowski has missed three of the 10 penalties he has taken in LaLiga; only Iago Aspas and Vedat Muriqi (four) have missed more penalties in the competition since 2022/23.’
