An insight into the chances of La Liga giants Barcelona landing Manchester City star Erling Haaland at any point in the near future has today been provided.
The name of Norwegian hitman Haaland has of course taken its place front and centre in the Spanish media headlines over the course of the last week.
This comes after Rafaela Pimenta and Maxwell – the 23-year-old’s representatives – were spotted holding a meeting with Barcelona sporting director Deco.
During the sit down, held in a restaurant in Catalunya, the subject of Haaland’s long-term plans in England are understood to have marked a central topic of discussion.
As much comes with Barcelona president Joan Laporta having identified the frontman as his ‘dream’ Blaugrana signing.
So, all of this taken into consideration, do Barca have any real shot at landing Haaland?
For the time being, it would appear not.
As per a report from Marca, in a piece detailing the financial gap between Spanish football’s two biggest clubs at present, it is assured that:
‘Though they are playing with the courtship of Haaland, Barcelona themselves (leaders and sports director) know that it is impossible.’
