Bild reports that Diego Demme’s move to Hertha Berlin is now off as the midfielder is no longer interested in joining the club.
Due to Hertha’s poor start to the season which has seen them lose all three of their opening games, the 31-year-old has been put off of the move. The idea of anything but promotion is a situation that Demme also does not want to be a part of.
This has meant that Hertha are no longer optimistic that a move for the 31-year-old will now take place. This leaves them with one week to find a replacement who can bring structure and defensive order to a vulnerable team.
The end of the transfer window continues to go from bad to worse for Hertha. Not only have they been unable to complete the signing of Demme they have also lost key players in Marco Richter (Mainz) and Suat Serdar (Hellas Verona) while Dodi Lukebakio is close to completing a move to Sevilla.
