A long-time star member of the midfield ranks at La Liga outfit Real Betis is closing on a return to the Verdiblancos.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Radio Sevilla, who highlight Guido Rodríguez as the player in question.
Argentine international Guido, of course, saw his name take its place front and centre in the media headlines across Spain earlier in the summer.
As much came amid links with some of La Liga’s leading clubs.
After allowing his contract terms with the aforementioned Real Betis to expire, the 30-year-old came close to signing for Barcelona.
After a move to Catalunya’s capital fell through, Guido was then identified as a potential addition by the brass at Atlético Madrid.
Again, however, a transfer in the end failed to come to fruition.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, such developments could, bizarrely, simply lead the deep-lying midfielder back to the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Real Betis are considering a new relationship with the Argentine international, who performed excellently as a green-and-white player after his arrival from América de México in January 2020.’
In fact, it is concluded that ‘the first option for Guido is once again Betis’.
