Serie A giants Inter are set to present Denzel Dumfries with a new contract.
According to a report by Sky Italia via TMW, Simone Inzaghi values Denzel Dumfries more than ever at the club and has therefore instructed the management to offer him a contract renewal.
The Dutchman’s current deal expires next summer and the renewal proposal will extend his stay with the Nerazzurri till June 30, 2028. However, an important detail of this new contract will be the exclusion of a release clause.
The 28-year-old is expected to be offered a much higher salary from his present contract in the new one along with bonuses but as of now, those details are undisclosed.
Dumfries has shown consistent performances throughout last season, playing as a right full-back and synchronizing well with Inzaghi’s tactics. Inter are aware that it would be tough to find a player like him to suit their 3-5-2 formation and renewing Dumfries for the long term became a priority.
