FC Augsburg have chosen a new captain ahead of the upcoming campaign, with Ermedin Demirovic replacing Jeffrey Gouweleeuw.

Ermedin Demirovic has been named new FC Augsburg captain ahead of the 2023/24 season, the Bundesliga outfit have announced today.
The 25-year-old striker takes over from Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, who is expected to leave the club at the latest next year when his contract expires.
Demirovic’s deputies are Niklas Dorsch and Elvis Rexhbecaj. The trio make up the team council along with Sven Michel, Finn Dahmen and Mads Pedersen.
“I am very proud to be the captain of FC Augsburg and to lead our team,” said Demirovic.
