Ermedin Demirović faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in Stuttgart’s 1-0 Bundesliga win over 1. FC Heidenheim on Sunday.
The club confirmed on Monday that the striker has been diagnosed with an early-stage fracture in his tarsal bone.
According to Bild, the injury could keep Demirović out for up to eight weeks – a significant blow for Stuttgart, with the 27-year-old having been one of the team’s key performers this season.
On a brighter note, Deniz Undav is expected to be fit for Stuttgart’s next match after the international break against Wolfsburg.
Demirovic has found the net five times in 10 appearances for the Swabians this season.
