David Moyes will stay at West Ham next season

David Moyes will stay on as West Ham United’s manager for the next season, according to BBC Sport,

The Scottish boss endured a challenging time last season, despite being heavily backed in the summer transfer window.

The 60-year-old appeared to be on the brink of being sacked on several occasions, but he avoided the axe and kept the Hammers in the Premier League.

Moyes also guided his side to Europa Conference League success, beating Fiorentina 2-1 in the final in Prague.

The victory ended their 43-year wait for a trophy, and they will play in the Europa League next term.

Moyes’ side struggled to perform well last season, but the Scot has done a decent job overall at the London Stadium.

He saved the club from relegation after coming into the job in November 2017 but wasn’t offered a new deal at the end of the season.

The former Manchester United boss performed the same feat in the 2019-20 season, guiding them to a 16th-place finish after replacing Manuel Pellegrini.

He was given a permanent contract and then led the team to a brilliant sixth place in his first full season, with the club posting a record Premier League points total (65).

They made it to the semi-final of the Europa League and finished seventh in the Premier League the following season.
