Serie A side Milan registered a statistic on the wrong side of history following their 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
According to a statistic revealed by Giuseppe Pastore (via GIFN), Milan became the only Italian team in the history of the Champions League to be without a single goal at the halfway point in the group stages.
The Rossoneri were drawn in a fairly challenging group and have faced Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain. While they were able to share the points against The Magpies and The Black Yellows courtesy of goalless draws, Stefano Pioli’s men suffered a drubbing versus Paris Saint-Germain last night at the Parc des Princes.
Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud attempted a number of times to break this season’s Champions League scoring deadlock but their endeavours went all in vain.
With the defeat last night, Milan endured two losses in a row across all competitions, failing to score during the course of both games. This is alarming for the coaching department as they will hope to inspire their players correctly in order to shrug off this scoring rut soon.
