The Champions League

Daichi Kamada’s move to AC Milan is imminent

As reported by Patrick Berger, AC Milan are ready to seal the signing of Daichi Kamada from Eintracht Frankfurt. Kamada will join the Serie A side as a free agent in the summer, signing a five-year deal.

There has been an understanding between Kamada and Frankfurt over the last few months that the Japanese international will be departing Die Adler with his contract ending in June.

However, his destined location has never been clear. But with Milan qualifying for the Champions League ahead of next season, Kamada has elected a move to Italy over Atlético Madrid while turning down a ‘top proposal’ from Borussia Dortmund.

Kamada has played an influential role at the Deutsche Bank Park this season, appearing 46 times and scoring 16 goals. He has also been able to guide the Eagles to the DFB-Pokal final where victory against RB Leipzig would see them enter the Europa League after missing out on European football on the final Bundesliga matchday.

It has been a busy summer so far for Eintracht Frankfurt, despite the Bundesliga season coming to a dramatic end on Saturday. There have already been three confirmed signings, while they look to add a fourth in the form of Hugo Larsson as a busy summer rebuild gets underway.
