According to journalist Pedro Morata, Jorge Mendes offered Cristiano Ronaldo to Atlético Madrid last week.
The club reportedly rejected the offer due to the finances involved. Atlético’s priority is to sell players this summer. To sign the 37-year-old, the La Liga outfit would have to sell one of their forwards.
João Félix’s departure is ruled out. Antoine Griezmann (31) is also unlikely to leave, therefore, Matheus Cunha (23), Ángel Correa (27) and Álvaro Morata (29) could be the ones who depart.
If they are to successfully complete a deal for the Real Madrid legend, Diego Simeone’s Atlético will have to sell at least one or even two of their forward players.
Ronaldo is not on Manchester United’s current pre-season tour and it remains to be seen where is playing at the start of the new season in August.
