Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is currently reporting that the loan deal set Soumaïla Coulibaly to Burnley FC has collapsed.

A loan deal between a Bundesliga club and an EPL side in the works for some time has, according to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, has now fallen through. Nineteen-year-old Borussia Dortmund defender Soumaïla Coulibaly evidently passed his medical at Turf Moor, but Burnley and the BVB were unable to come to an agreement on a mandatory purchase clause.
In reporting on the collapsed deal, Germany’s Kicker Magazine notes that Dortmund may have sought a purchase obligation as high as €17.5 million for the young Frenchman. Regarded as an outstanding prospect, though not one who has proven himself beyond the BVB reserves, Coulibaly’s estimated market worth lies at only €1 million in the latest transfermarkt listings.
