Corinne Diacre to seek compensation following her dismissal from the French FA

Former France Women national team manager Corinne Diacre is seeking compensation from the French FA following her dismissal, according to a report from L’Équipe. On March 9th, Diacre was dismissed from her position by the French FA in the wake of a player exodus. Last week, Saudi Arabia manager Hervé Renard replaced Diacre as the new Les Bleues boss, less than four months before the Women’s World Cup.

However, L’Équipe reports that, to this day, the French FA still haven’t sent Diacre her termination notice and have offered to pay her monthly €27k wages until the end of her contract in August 2024. Nevertheless, the former Clermont manager feels that her dismissal has tarnished her image. Therefore, she is to seek further compensation from the French FA that will be worth more that the wages she was due until 2024. “We want to find an agreement with Corinne”, said French FA interim president Philippe Diallo to L’Équipe. “We understand her situation, but we must also understand that the FA was faced with a situation that it did not cause.”

Last week, Diacre was questioned by police investigators as part of the investigation into the attack suffered by PSG midfielder Kheira Hamraoui in November of 2021. Diacre reportedly heard recordings between players and club executives about her that gave Diacre the feeling she fell into an ambush, further strengthening her resolve to not let her departure slide.
