La Liga giants Real Madrid have this afternoon confirmed that a key member of the club’s defensive ranks has put pen to paper on a new contract.
The player in question? Éder Militão.
Brazilian international Militão, for his part, is of course currently sidelined long-term.
This comes after the one-time Porto standout suffered an ACL tear back in August of 2023, during a La Liga meeting with Athletic Club.
Evidently, though, the faith of those in a position of power in Spain’s capital in Militão’s talents has not wavered in the slightest.
In turn, on Tuesday, the 26-year-old has extended his terms with Real through the summer of 2028.
As per an official statement across Los Blancos’ website and social media platforms:
‘Real Madrid CF and Éder Militão have agreed to extend their player’s contract with the club until 30 June 2028.’
As per transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Militão’s new deal also features a sky-high release clause, worth a whopping €1 billion, evidently intended to ward off any and all interest in his signature.
