Jordan Larsson’s loan-out to FC Copenhagen for the duration of the season is confirmed. After threatening to offload the attacker during the winter break, acting S04 sporting director Peter Knäbel evidently thought that Larsson showed too little in his two starts since the Bundesliga resumed. The 25-year-old still hasn’t gotten his name on a Bundesliga scoresheet with either a goal or an assist in 11 league appearances.
“For Jordan, the season has unfortunately not gone as we hoped,” Knäbel noted in a statement on Schalke’s website, “Together with him, we have agreed that a loan is the best possible option for both sides.”
It is not yet known whether the a purchase option is built into the loan arrangement. As it stands now, Larsson will be due back in Gelsenkirchen this summer.
