We are happy that Serge Gnabry has extended his contract,” FCB sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic noted in a statement released by the club, “Serge has become one of the faces of FC Bayern. He is a German international, a goal scorer – and he still has potential for improvement. The honest and forthright discussions with him and his advisors have also shown that Serge identifies with our plan and with FC Bayern. He is part of the core of our team, he has given a lot to the club thus far, and he will continue to be an important player for us.”
“I have thought a lot about what I want as a player for the next few years,” Gnabry himself added, “I want to stay at FC Bayern, win everything here again and experience things like the Champions’ League title, but this time with our fans. It’s special because I can play here with my friends here. I certainly wouldn’t experience it like this at another club. I want to experience great moments here again – and not somewhere else. The hunger for big titles is not going away.”
Gnabry has scored 64 goals in 171 competitive appearances for Germany’s footballing giants. He’s won the league with them in all four seasons since moving from SV Werder Bremen in 2017.
