The Colorado Rapids are in advanced talks a deal to sign U.S. international attacker Paxten Aaronson from Eintracht Frankfurt, sources tell GIVEMESPORT. A deal is close, but the final details are being ironed out.
Colorado have agreed a potential club-record fee with Frankfurt, sources say. A number of European clubs have been pushing to sign Aaronson but the Rapids are close to finalizing the deal.
The summer transfer window in MLS closes on Thursday.
Aaronson, 21, left the Philadelphia Union for Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023. He excelled on loan at FC Utrecht last season, where he had nine goals and six assists.
The rising attacker has made four senior appearances with the USMNT.
It was a tough decision to leave Europe, but Aaronson is excited at the responsibility to be the focal point of the Rapids’ new era.
