Lazio talisman Ciro Immobile joined an altogether exclusive goalscoring club, after finding the net during the club’s meeting with Feyenoord.
For those not aware, Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio are currently locked in action, in a Champions League group stage meeting with Dutch giants Feyenoord.
The Biancocelesti headed into proceedings with revenge on their minds, after being put to the sword by three goals to one in the reverse fixture in Rotterdam two weeks ago.
And, as things stand in the 2nd-half in Rome, revenge is precisely what Lazio appear to be headed towards. This comes owing to the latest goal netted by aforementioned frontman Immobile.
The Italian international put his side in front on the stroke of the interval, after beating the offside trap before slotting home a trademark finish. And, in the process, Immobile secured for himself a hugely impressive record.
As revealed by statisticians Opta, the 33-year-old tonight became only the 5th player to score 200 or more goals with a single team across Europe’s top five leagues since 2016/17.
The others? Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Harry Kane.
200 – Ciro Immobile is only the 5th player to score 200+ goals with a single team in the Big-5 European leagues in all competitions since 2016/17 (his first season for Lazio), after Lewandowski (277), Mbappé (224), Messi (219) and Kane (216). Olympus.#LazioFeyenoord #UCL pic.twitter.com/zZaCGeahEa
