Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn appear to be drifting apart following their smash-hit middleweight boxing fight on Saturday, the 26th of April, despite a contractually-obligated rematch and reporting that suggested a September do-over was in the works.
It was a fight in which Eubank earned three deserved scores of 116-112, but though there was no dispute regarding the winner, a second fight made promotional sense because of the cash generated from 67,000 fight fans attending the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, as well as 620,000 worldwide buys on pay-per-view.
Both fighters have their sights set on alternative opponents. And Benn promoter Eddie Hearn has even expressed concern about his fighter returning to the 160-pound division for another grueling war with Eubank, when his more natural weight is in the 147 to 154-pound range.

Conor Benn Lines Up Ryan Garcia
British welterweight is in New York to attend Garcia’s fight against Rolly Romero
Attending the landmark boxing event at the iconic Times Square in New York for Garcia vs Romero, among Teofimo Lopez vs Arnold Barboza and Devin Haney against Jose Ramirez, Benn said he’d welcome a future fight against Garcia.
“If it’s not Eubank next, I’ll drop back down for Ryan Garcia.”
It is unclear what Garcia’s future movements are, though. Should he, as expected, defeat Romero, then a fight against Haney — a do-over from a bout ruled a No Contest due to ostarine in Garcia’s blood — would deliver a considerable amount of pay-per-view sales at the box office.
But Garcia has also called out Jake Paul. “He’s going to have to come through me sooner or later,” he said.
Benn would be one of numerous options for Garcia.

Chris Eubank Jr Remains Open to Canelo Alvarez Super Fight
Canelo is even keen to continue a world tour in which a bout in England would likely be on the cards
Eubank, meanwhile, has another big fight that he’s lining up, as he described a super-fight against Canelo as “another stadium filler,” when speaking to Sky Sports. “Wembley, Tottenham, any one of the large football stadiums in the UK will be filled for a fight like that.
“He is an opponent I’ve been looking at for many years now. And the fans would love to see that. So 100 percent that’s a name in my line of sight.”
Canelo is open to the fight, too, when talking to The Ring Magazine.
“I have beaten eight Brits so far? Well it’s going to be nine, then.”
He finished: “I want to fight in the UK and I promise I will do it. I don’t know exactly where yet but I am going to do it … we will see what will happen, but I think the fight between me and Eubank is big.”
