Chelsea are going to struggle to get their money back for Romelu Lukaku, says transfer reporter Dean Jones.
The Belgium forward is currently on loan at Inter Milan and is having a difficult time there because of injury.

Chelsea transfer news – Romelu Lukaku
After his appointment as Chelsea manager, Jones told GIVEMESPORT that Graham Potter wanted to talk to Lukaku about potentially staying at Stamford Bridge next season.
The 29-year-old decided to join Inter on loan during the summer after a disastrous 2021/22 campaign in west London.
Much was expected of Lukaku when he initially left Inter for Chelsea in a deal worth £97.5m, according to BBC Sport. In the end, though, things did not go to plan. As per Transfermarkt, Lukaku was only able to score eight league goals for the Blues before returning to Italy.
His second spell at the Nerazzurri has not really worked out so far either, with injury resulting in him making just four Serie A appearances this term.

What has Dean Jones said about Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea?
Jones thinks Chelsea have little chance of getting their money back for Lukaku.
Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “Lukaku cost almost £100m, so it’s pretty clear that Chelsea are going to struggle to get that back given his current status. But Lukaku is hugely driven to bounce back from this bad moment in his career.”

How did Romelu Lukaku get on at the World Cup?
Lukaku was unable to offer much to Belgium in Qatar, though that was largely because he is still returning to full fitness.
As a result, he missed the Red Devils’ opening game against Canada and was only able to come off the bench in the following fixtures versus Morocco and Croatia, as per Transfermarkt.
Had he been fit heading into the tournament, perhaps Belgium would have made it to the knockout round. On his day, Lukaku is a devastating forward, with The Telegraph’s Matt Law describing him as “world-class”.
It does not change the fact, though, that Chelsea definitely are going to find it impossible to get their money back for him.
Inter were only able to bring the Belgium international back to Milan on loan, while he has not done enough yet to attract interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, teams who could probably afford to pay what Chelsea stumped up to sign him in the 2021 summer transfer window.
