Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana could be on the move this summer after just one season as Premier League clubs Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in his services.
Onana has superseded Samir Handanovic as Inter’s first-choice goalkeeper this season, putting on impressive displays to become a pivotal player in the squad.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter aren’t willing to sell the Cameroonian shot-stopper, but that could change in case of big offers from the suitors since the Nerazzurri haven’t recovered from the financial crisis.
Arriving on a free transfer from Ajax last summer, Onana has been seen as one of the best transfer coups following his significant impact at San Siro this term.
The 26-year-old has been enjoying a stellar campaign in the Champions League, playing a key role in Inter’s qualification to the quarter-finals. On top of that, his five clean sheets is the highest of the tournament.
Regardless of Inter’s fluctuating form this season, Onana has managed to hold his own and be a key figure for Simone Inzaghi.
With a contract running until 2027, Inter may ask for a sumptuous transfer fee to part ways with Onana.
Man Utd have long been scouring the market for a keeper to provide competition to De Gea or even dethrone him in the starting eleven. Onana’s name must be recommended by Erik ten Hag, as both had previously worked at Ajax.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are also on the lookout for a long-term successor to Hugo Lloris, who is currently injured. Deputy shot-stopper Fraser Forster is currently overseeing the keeping duties, but Spurs want a top-class keeper ahead of next season.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are looking to flex their financial muscle again, adding Onana to their summer wishlist as a replacement for exit-linked Edouard Mendy.
Inter have also lined up a potential replacement in the event that Onana seeks an exit this summer. They are looking at Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario as a possible target.
