AS Monaco’s Malamine Efekele (19), dubbed as ‘the next Kylian Mbappé’ is the subject of interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, including Chelsea, according to Foot Mercato.
Efekele is yet to make his first-team debut for the Principality club, but he is already attracting interest. The France U20 international has earned comparisons with Mbappé, who also came through the club’s prestigious La Diagonale academy. Efekele, who was even coached by Mbappé’s father Wilfrid whilst at INF Clairefontaine and also played for Bondy before joining the Principality club, is naturally a winger, but can also play through the middle.
This season, he continues to feature with Monaco’s Groupe Élite, although he now trains regularly with the first team. He has also made matchday squads but is yet to earn his first minutes in Rouge et Blanc. Efekele’s contract with Monaco runs until the summer of 2025, however, he is attracting interest from Chelsea. According to Foot Mercato, Valencia are also following the player, but Bundesliga sides are pushing hardest to bring Efekele to Germany. Top-level Spanish and French clubs are also in the running.
