The story of Lassine Sinayoko (26) is one of redemption. Having been turned down by numerous clubs in his youth, the Paris FC striker is now regarded as one of the best players in the French league. As Ligue 1’s top scorer (eight goals) and third-highest assist provider (five assists) this season, the Malian is making a big impression.
Indeed, in the eyes of many observers, Paris FC – who signed him during the summer transfer window from AJ Auxerre for €8m – have undoubtedly pulled off one of the best deals of the recent summer transfer window. Much to the delight of the Parisian club, which, according to reports in L’Équipe, has no intention whatsoever of parting ways with Sinayoko, whose contract runs until 2029 and whose performances are, unsurprisingly, a source of complete satisfaction for the club’s management.
Be that as it may, any club wishing to prise him away would certainly have to dig deep into their pockets. “His value exceeds €20m,” estimates a scout from a top-eight Premier League club. Whilst he is convinced that clubs such as Coventry City or Ipswich Town might be interested in the Bamako-born player, he points out that PFC currently holds all the cards in this matter.
“When you’re a director at Paris FC these days, you can drive up the price by putting forward a simple argument: we’re not looking to sell, we don’t need to sell,” he concludes.
