Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic has admitted that Chelsea deserved to advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Terzic’s side took a 1-0 lead into tonight’s game at Stamford Bridge, but were knocked out of the competition by a 2-0 defeat in London.
Speaking to Prime Video after the game, Terzic admitted that Chelsea deserved to reach the next stage of the tournament, but added that he felt his side would have been worthy of reaching the quarter-finals too.
“It’s a tough result to accept; we’re very disappointed. They were two very tight games. In the second half we produced a very dominant performances and created a lot of chances – in the end, though, it wasn’t enough,” Terzic said.
“We have to say, over the course of two games, Chelsea deserve to go through. But we would have deserved to go through too as it was two games that were very evenly-matched.”
