Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has moved to single one member of his squad out for special praise, on the back of their defeat at the hands of Barcelona.
Real are of course fresh off something of an evening to forget on Sunday.
After making the trip to Jeddah for a Spanish Super Cup finale showdown with arch rivals Barcelona, Los Blancos were made short work of, to the tune of a 5-2 defeat.
En route to as much, a whole host of the club’s star performers struggled, from Lucas Vázquez and Aurélien Tchouaméni at the back to Vinícius Jr. up top.
As alluded to above, though, of the opinion that one solitary member of Real Madrid’s ranks can hold his head high tonight is Carlo Ancelotti.
Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s concerning Clásico defeat, Italian tactician Ancelotti revealed his take that:
“The only good thing today was Kylian Mbappé.”
